KF.SocialWhy Meetup feels unusable without paying
Meetup is basically unusable without paying for it. Ads, pop ups to subscribe on login/reopening the app, and the amount is £9.99/week. Don’t think new groups would be easy to get attention, so paying for 6 month or a year up front is a no go for me.
Even with a 7 day trial, it’s not enough time to know if it’s worth trying to start a community there. I don’t think people would use it how it is now. The ads were very intrusive, too.
