YouTube Music recommendations have been driving me mad. I thumbs-down a song and it never goes away. It’s still there in my recommended playlists and mixes. I tried Discover and Explore and kept getting the same stuff I don’t like. Everything felt like one long loop.

I don’t know what the incentive is for YouTube Music to keep showing me music I don’t like. I had the same problem with Spotify: it put me in a category of stuff I didn’t like, and there was no way to get out of it.

I’ve been trying to offload more of this kind of thing to AI. So I told it what annoys me, which artists I can’t stand and which ones I do like. I use it on my computer and it has permission to connect to my browser, where I’m logged into YouTube Music.

It went through my likes and listening history and has now created seven playlists that I’ll explore. They range from energy boost to cooking, focus and driving music, including three for my 9-hour road trip to Ben Nevis. It’s a mix of artists I already love and new stuff in different languages, all checked against the list of what I don’t want to hear. When I get bored, it can swap in fresh songs.

The algorithm guesses what I like. Now I just tell it.

I shared a photo with my daughters from when they were little, and they go “bruh what’s that??? ewww it’s so cringe” 😂

How do I learn to speak like that? I don’t have an opinion to practice slang in meetings 😜 just trying to stay relevant

I take back all the things I said for iPhone Duo. It is a fabulous phone and you it can do so many cool things, I like the abilities it gives with the layout, the different orientations and how adaptable it is and fluid it feels. 9.5/10.

Maybe, and I say maybe, I will buy it one day. For now using the simulator :)

Someone from work is doing a 110km race in the most difficult mountain in China with a 34hr cutoff. No time to sleep. 5am start on a Sunday.

The level of dedication and discipline to get to that stage is incredible. Good luck!

With computer use, #AI can now produce work in #Blender, which means I can now get a #3D printer and ask AI to build me stuff!

(yes, I was not investing time to learn Blender or 3d modeling)

I enjoy going around using electric bikes but lately I’ve been running into some maintenance issues with #forest breaks squeaking, chain rattling, or bike not locking and getting stuck (it charged me for longer). I know you can report it in the app, however it’s not straightforward. If I want to swap a bike, I pay again £1 unlock fee and I need to raise a support case to waive that. I haven’t heard back after raising a support case when I couldn’t unlock a bike.

For a paid product, I really don’t want to see ads and offers when I open the app, or when I end my ride. Their business model is not my problem and I should not have to wait 15-25 seconds to watch an ad for my ride to end.

I would happily try #lime bikes but we don’t have many in my area.
