How Much Does a Dinner Club in London Cost?

What you actually pay to join a dinner club in London, what is and is not included, and what happens to your money if you cancel or the table does not run. Every figure stated.

Here is what each one actually charges, what the price does and does not cover, and what happens to the money if the evening falls through. Everything about another company is quoted from its own pages with the date it was read, and where a company does not publish a price this page says so instead of guessing.

What you pay, by service

Meetup

Membership is free and most listed events cost nothing to attend. Meetup also sells a member subscription, Meetup+, and its own help centre calls the free tier "the limited free plan" (help.meetup.com, read 4 September 2026). Meetup+ covers exemption from service fees on paid events, unrestricted direct messaging, waitlist priority and full access to the attendee list, member profiles and the "Who will be there" feature. Organisers can also set member dues for their own group, which is a separate charge again, flagged by a "Request to join" button. No Meetup+ price is published on the pages read, and its free trial rolls into a recurring subscription automatically.

So: often genuinely free, and the honest caveat is that seeing who is coming is behind the paid tier.

Timeleft

A subscription in one, three or six month periods. Its help centre says the available options "may vary by region and are displayed during sign-up" (help.timeleft.com, read 2 September 2026), and no price appears anywhere on its website or help centre. Food and drinks are paid at the venue and are not in the subscription. A subscription is generally non-refundable once a new billing period has started, including if you cancel on the day the renewal charges, and it renews automatically unless you cancel before the next billing date. There is no in-app plan switching: you cancel, wait for the current plan to expire, then buy the other one.

We are not going to fill in the missing number with one from a third party. If you want to know what Timeleft costs in London, you will find out during sign-up, which is a real thing to weigh if you are deciding tonight.

DayOfUs

Free to join, with a pay-per-event option or an optional subscription, and food paid at the venue (dayofus.com, read 4 September 2026). London is one of its listed cities.

Vairi

Not a dinner club, but a London option that deserves a mention here for one reason: it publishes its prices plainly in pounds, which almost nobody in this category does. Founding member plans are listed at 3.99 pounds a month, 9.99 pounds for three months and 19.99 pounds a year, with a free tier covering your profile, the first introduction and replying in anonymous chat (vairi.app/pricing, read 7 September 2026). It does one-to-one introductions rather than tables, so it answers a different question, but if publishing a price matters to you, it publishes one.

Supper clubs

Set per sitting by each host, usually with the food in the ticket. There is no market rate worth quoting and anyone who quotes you one is guessing.

KF.Social

15 pounds for the seat, shown before you pay, plus your own food and drinks at the restaurant. No subscription and no membership. You book the one Wednesday you are free, and there is nothing to cancel afterwards.

What the 15 pounds buys, precisely

It buys the seat and the work of filling the table, and it is worth being exact about that because "matching fee" is a vague phrase.

The dinner is Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, sitting at 19:00, in Soho, Shoreditch or Clapham. A table is laid for six, and a seventh booking is not turned away: another table of six opens rather than anyone being refused. Booking gates on being 18 or over and on paying, and on nothing else.

We book the restaurant, so you are not calling round at six o'clock trying to seat six people on a weeknight. Booking closes six hours before the sitting, and the restaurant lands at the same point. Who you are sitting with lands an hour before, with the group chat. Three hours before, we decide whether the table runs, against a floor of four seats.

The table is assembled rather than random. Anyone you have asked to avoid is never seated with you, and that is a hard rule rather than a preference. After that it is built for shared interests, close age bands and a balanced room, with a heavy weighting against seating you with people you have already met or sending you back to a restaurant you have already eaten at.

What it does not buy: your dinner. You order what you want and pay for it like anybody else at the restaurant, which also means a dinner club evening costs whatever you were going to spend on food anyway, plus 15 pounds.

What happens to your money if it falls through

Two different cases, and they are treated differently on purpose.

If you cancel, there is a ladder. More than 72 hours before the sitting, the 15 pounds goes back to your card. Between 72 and 24 hours it comes back as KF Points, which are credit toward a future dinner at 1,000 points to the pound. Inside 24 hours it does not come back, because at that point the table has been assembled around you and the seat cannot be resold.

If the table does not run, you are refunded in full whatever the clock says. The run or no-run decision happens three hours before against a floor of four seats, so if a table is short you find out at four in the afternoon rather than at the restaurant.

The awkward part of that ladder, said plainly: a cancellation inside 24 hours is the one case where you lose the money, and for somebody whose meetings overrun that is the rung that will actually bite. Booking the night you are least likely to be kept late is worth more than any refund policy.

Common Questions

How much does a dinner club cost in London?
It depends on whether you are paying per seat or for a membership. Most Meetup listings are free to attend. Timeleft uses a subscription and publishes no price on its site or help centre; it is shown during sign-up. A KF.Social seat is 15 pounds, shown before you pay, plus your own food and drinks at the restaurant.
Is the food included in the price?
Not with any of the matching services. Timeleft, DayOfUs and KF.Social all leave food and drinks to be paid at the venue. Supper clubs are the exception: a supper club ticket usually includes the meal, which is why the headline price looks higher.
Does KF.Social charge a subscription?
No. It is 15 pounds for the seat, per dinner, with nothing recurring and nothing to cancel afterwards. That is the practical difference if you are in London for a fortnight and want one Wednesday solved rather than a membership you will cancel from an airport.
What is the total cost of an evening?
Fifteen pounds for the seat, plus whatever you order. Because you pay the restaurant directly for your own food and drinks, the meal costs what it would have cost you on any other night, so the added cost of the evening is the 15 pounds.
Do I get my money back if I cancel?
There is a ladder. More than 72 hours before the dinner the 15 pounds goes back to your card. Between 72 and 24 hours it comes back as KF Points, credit toward a future dinner at 1,000 points to the pound. Inside 24 hours it does not come back, because the table has been built around you by then.
What if the dinner is cancelled?
If the table does not run you are refunded in full, whatever the clock says. The decision is made three hours before the sitting against a floor of four seats, so you hear in the afternoon rather than finding out at the restaurant.
Why does Timeleft not show a price?
Its help centre says the available options vary by region and are displayed during sign-up, and no figure appears on its website or help centre. We are not going to fill in that gap with a number from somewhere else. If you want to know what it costs in London you will see it during sign-up.
