How We Handle Your Dietary Information

Why We Ask About Diet at All

For a group dinner to work, the restaurant needs to be able to feed everyone at the table. If someone is vegan, coeliac, or has a serious allergy, the venue has to be able to cater for that. So that we can match each group to a suitable restaurant, KF.Social asks about your dietary needs. This is the only reason we collect this information, and this article explains, in plain language, exactly what we do with it and the control you have.

What We Collect

We ask you to tell us about your dietary requirements once, when you set up your account or before your first dinner. This can include things like:

  • Dietary choices such as vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, or halal.
  • Allergies and intolerances, such as nuts, gluten, dairy, or shellfish.
  • Other requirements that affect where the group can comfortably eat.

You tell us once, and we remember it for future dinners so you do not have to enter it every time.

What We Use It For, and Only That

Your dietary information is used for a single purpose: to choose a restaurant that can cater for everyone in your group. We look at the combined needs of the table and pick a venue that can serve everyone well. That is the whole job it does. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.

We Never Share It With the Restaurant or Other Guests

This is important, so we want to be completely clear about it. Your dietary information is never shared with:

  • The restaurant: we use your requirements to choose a suitable venue, but we do not pass your individual details to the restaurant. The reservation is simply held under the name "KF."
  • Other guests: nobody else at the table sees your dietary information. If you choose to mention an allergy or preference on the night, that is entirely your decision to make in person.

Your dietary details stay between you and KF.Social, used only behind the scenes to match the group to the right restaurant.

We Ask for Your Explicit Consent

Because some dietary information, particularly details about allergies or health-related needs, can be sensitive, we only collect and use it with your explicit consent. You actively agree to us using it to match you to suitable dinners. If you would prefer not to share this information, you do not have to, though it helps us seat you somewhere you can eat comfortably.

You Can Edit or Delete It Any Time

Your dietary information is yours, and you stay in control of it:

  • Edit it: update your requirements at any time in your account settings if your needs change.
  • Delete it: remove your dietary information whenever you wish. Once deleted, we no longer hold it.
  • Withdraw consent: you can withdraw your consent at any time, and we will stop using the information for matching.

These controls put the decision in your hands, with no need to contact us or explain yourself.
