- Lift with meaningful load. Challenging weight is the signal that builds and keeps muscle. Cover the major muscle groups two or three times a week and aim to progress over time.

- Keep lifting hard while dieting. This is the whole point. Do not drop the weights or slash your volume during a cut. That is when muscle is most at risk and most worth protecting.
- Move more across the day. Use your stronger body. Daily steps and general activity are where the real calorie burn lives, far more than any resting difference from the muscle itself.
