It is free, it is enormous, and it gives you choice. Bumble describes it as "a safe, kind space where you can easily make and foster meaningful, local connections", and it now runs as its own standalone app rather than a mode inside Bumble. The mechanic is familiar: "You swipe through profiles and when two people swipe right on each other, you can start chatting! Either person can send the first message on Bumble For Friends."
It has also moved toward real life. Bumble says any member with two or more matches can create a plan for a group meetup, choosing from activities like coffee, dining, outdoors, live music or a games night. The pool is the real advantage: it is far larger than ours, and it is free.
Where KF.Social is different
The difference is not that we lack the browsing half. KF.Social has a daily Discover deck of people near you, waves and friend requests, and a full chat with photos, voice notes, documents and calls once you are connected. The difference is that we also sell the evening. We seat six people at a restaurant we booked, on a date that was set before anyone booked it. The documented failure mode of a match-and-chat product is the chat that never becomes a plan, because turning a conversation into a meeting needs somebody to suggest it, twice, and often nobody does. A booked table starts after that step. Bumble For Friends has moved toward this with its group meetup plans, but the plan is still yours to make.
The other difference is the shape of the group. A match is one person and a table is six, which changes the evening. With six people, one quiet pairing does not sink anything.
Price, and what you are paying for
Bumble For Friends is free to download and use, with optional paid extras. On price there is no argument to have: free beats 15 pounds.
KF.Social is 15 pounds a seat, per dinner, shown before you pay, with food and drinks yours at the restaurant. What the fee covers is the matching and the restaurant booking, which is to say the work you would otherwise do yourself. Whether that is worth 15 pounds depends entirely on whether you were ever going to do it yourself.

Bumble For Friends is in far more places than we are, though Bumble notes on its own page that it "may not be currently available in your region", so it is worth checking rather than assuming. KF.Social runs dinners in London and nowhere else.
