Join a monthly Loussac Library book group

Anchorage Public Library’s I Read What I Want group meets on the second Tuesday of each month, 6–7:30 p.m., in the Raven Room on the third floor of Loussac Library. Browse Anchorage Parks activities

Municipal Parks and Recreation offers activities throughout the year in education and special interest, fitness and health, and outdoor recreation. Check the live calendar or registration system for a programme that interests you, then confirm the exact venue, schedule, fee, eligibility and remaining places. The municipality includes distant communities as well as the Anchorage Bowl, so a listing may not be nearby.

Care for a park near home

The municipal Adopt-A-Park programme accepts individuals as well as groups. Its free Park Steward option asks adopters to select a park and complete at least four cleanups per year under a one-year agreement; volunteers must submit a waiver. Read the safety rules and apply before planning a project. Choose a park you already visit so the commitment and travel are manageable.
