A shared class, reading goal or community project can make it easier to find a regular activity and see familiar people again. Wichita has City of Wichita classes, adult programmes at Wichita Public Library and volunteer opportunities through Parks & Recreation. Check each organiser’s current details; these activities are not run by KF.Social.
01Pick a class that fits your week
The City of Wichita’s class catalogue includes adult options across fitness, cooking, dance, art, technology and recreation. Use the live listing to compare dates, recreation-centre locations, fees and registration status. If an activity is full or meets at an inconvenient time, check other categories or later sessions.
02Make reading a shared routine
Wichita Public Library’s ReadICT 2026 challenges adults to read 12 books across different categories. Participants can use the online tracker or a paper log, and the library publishes related book discussions and events. Check the current event calendar for a programme that interests you and confirm its branch, time and any signup requirements.
03Ask about a parks volunteer project
Wichita Parks & Recreation invites people to help with parks, programmes and community events. Review the volunteer resources and application, then contact the volunteer coordinator about upcoming projects, screening requirements, meeting places and equipment.
04Choose a location you can return to
This guide focuses on Wichita city services and Wichita Public Library activities. It does not combine the wider Sedgwick County area or nearby Kansas communities into one dinner or product catchment. Wichita is geographically spread out, so check the address, schedule and return journey for any activity you choose.
Start with an activity you genuinely like. Showing up more than once gives you time to learn names and let conversation grow naturally around a shared interest.
Local programmes change. Check the organiser links above for current dates, booking and access details. Spotted something out of date? Send us a correction.
