Why are budget airline tickets so cheap but the final price so high?
The headline fare often covers almost nothing. Bags, seat selection, check-in, and priority boarding are sold separately, so the advertised price and the price you actually pay can be wildly different.
How do I avoid extra baggage fees?
Travel with only what genuinely fits the free allowance, check the exact size and weight limits before you fly, and add any bag online in advance, because paying at the airport is almost always more expensive.
Do I have to pay to choose my seat?
Often you can decline paid seat selection and be allocated a seat for free at check-in. You may be split from your group, which is precisely what the paid option is quietly counting on.
Is it cheaper to add baggage online or at the airport?
Almost always online and in advance. Airport and gate baggage fees are typically the most expensive option, by design.
