🦆 Autocorrect ruined your text

You typed something normal.
It sent on my wat.

The keyboard read your sentence, understood it perfectly, and swapped in a word you have never used, right as you hit send. Make it confess.

The autocorrect interrogation, answered

Why does autocorrect change words I spelled correctly?+
It predicts what it thinks you meant from patterns and context, and sometimes overrides a correct word with a more common one. When the guess is wrong, it is wrong at the worst possible moment.
How do I turn off autocorrect?+
On most phones it is under keyboard or language settings, where you can disable auto-correction and predictive text. You can usually also undo a single correction right after it happens.
Why does it keep changing my friend's name?+
Names it does not recognise get pushed toward dictionary words or more common names. Adding the name to your contacts or keyboard dictionary usually stops the keyboard inventing a Duncan.
Who made Ducking Autocorrect?+
People who have sent on my wat to a boss, at kf.social. It is a parody, not a real keyboard.
